Through our Community-Based Youth Philanthropy program, Every Voice in Action works with community organizations to incorporate a successful youth philanthropy curriculum similar to that of our Youth Crew. Every Voice may provide financial support, funds for re-granting by the youth, and/or facilitators. This model allows us to bring our process of teaching young people about philanthropy and engaging them in grant-making to a variety of community settings.
Tucson City Ward Youth Funders Projects
We are excited to announce that, in partnership with Every Voice in Action, City Ward 1 (Council Member Regina Romero) will be running a Youth Funders Project this summer. Youth, ages 14 – 21, from the Ward will have the opportunity to decide how to spend tens of thousands of dollars in City of Tucson Youth Services funding.
Youth Funders will meet to learn about each other and the issues facing the youth of our community, learn about and practice philanthropy, create and disseminate an RFP, examine programs and budgets, and make funding decisions. The projects will help the City of Tucson better understand the issues facing youth as they provide a unique opportunity for youth to make their voices heard in our community.
Participants in the Ward 1 program have chosen Empowering Youth & Exploring Culture through the Arts as their grant round focus.
